In 2006 I purchased contemporary standard international cards by a number of the most well-known and high quality makers. These all came from the wide selection at R Somerville (for the detail conscious, the Bee I already had from 2005!).
Here I also show Goodall and De La Rue examples which form the basis of most modern designs (see Ken Lodge's book for details).
I then show a page of designs by eight different makers, one for each court card. Rather than define a single standard, I think the numerous common features of these cards speak for themselves.
